Due to the number of increased positive COVID cases in NJ, we are returning to providing curbside assistance. Clients are to wait in their cars as a technician will escort your pet inside for their exam.
All clients must give a 24-48 hour notice for refills on medications and pharmacy refill requests.
“Holistic” (or integrative) veterinary medicine is the combined use of conventional and alternative (or complementary) medicine. It differs from conventional veterinary medicine in that it takes a more natural and common sense approach to your pet’s healthcare. It acknowledges the capacity of the body to heal on its own if we remove the impediments to healing. Through proper nutrition, regular daily care, avoidance of chemical toxins, and minimization of emotional stress the body’s own immune system becomes strengthened, enabling the body to heal itself and be fortified against possible disease. It avoids the overuse or common misuse of many drugs, antibiotics, steroids, artificial chemicals, vaccinations, and other treatments.
We treat each pet patient as an individual, prescribing only what he or she needs. Our holistic veterinarians are trained in many different modalities and treat mostly with physical treatments, proper diet, natural whole-food and herbal dietary supplements, nutraceuticals, formulas from the ancient Chinese, Ayurvedic and Western herbal traditions, Bach Flower emotional remedies, essential oils and homeopathic remedies. Physical treatments include VOM chiropractic adjustments, acupuncture therapy, ozone therapy, cold laser therapy (LLLT), and Reiki, among other treatments. We recommend regular check-ups and blood tests to help us keep your pet on track and in balance.
We see dogs, cats, small mammals, birds and reptiles at our clinic and are available for house calls as well. In Northern New Jersey, we do Equine barn calls for acupuncture, chiropractic and cold laser therapy.

This vet care is great. They take time and use alternative treatments, which are more effective than the regular vet . Thanks!
After our previous holistic vet has retired, I was incredibly nervous about finding a new one - I have 3 dogs and 4 cats, I take their health very seriously and has had some pretty bad experiences with vets in the past. But this place turned out to be absolutely incredible so far! Dr. B and the whole crew were so welcoming and genuine, I felt like we were in great hands from the first minute of our visit!
Prices are very reasonable as well, they don’t push unnecessary procedures like some vets do.
I’m looking forward to introducing all of my pets to dr. B, hopefully just for the routine check ups and health maintenance, I believe holistic approach will keep us on the right track of preventing issues, rather than solving them.
My love and gratitude to this wholesome clinic!
I am so thankful I found Dr. Buchoff this past summer. Our beagle saw a regular vet who made us feel terrible and told us our dog had periodontal disease and needed to have teeth extracted. We were very upset because we take good care of our dog, and he made us feel like we were doing something wrong. Something in my gut told me to look elsewhere, and due to my own beliefs, I sought a more holistic approach and found Dr. B. He was able to give my dog a thorough teeth cleaning without extracting any teeth (did not even mention it). He is very responsive to emails and inquiries. He even went completely out of his way to ease the minds of two scared pet parents at 8:00 am on a Sunday morning when our little guy was wincing in pain and could not go up the stairs. He met us at the office right away and spent time with us, conducting a thorough examination, explaining things and formulating a treatment plan. You can tell he truly loves what he does and cares about animals (and their humans). The prices are fair for the quality of service and expertise. Dr. B is truly the best and I’d recommend him without reservation to anyone who wants to give their pets the best care with a more holistic approach.
The doctor office is very welcoming, and the nurses who work their are friendly, the dr also take his time , answers all my questions, very friendly.
They also have good prices, the office atmosphere shows their love for animals.

Dr Hirsch completely went above and beyond with her knowledge, service, and compassion. Sage left in better shape in which she came. I will be bringing my cat, Knox, in the future. Each Vet Tech was just as knowledgeable than others I’ve come in contact with. You will always have a client in me, as well as referrals. Thank you for all that you do! Keep being great!
