“Holistic” (or integrative) veterinary medicine is the combined use of conventional and alternative (or complementary) medicine. It differs from conventional veterinary medicine in that it takes a more natural and common sense approach to your pet’s healthcare. It acknowledges the capacity of the body to heal on its own if we remove the impediments to healing. Through proper nutrition, regular daily care, avoidance of chemical toxins, and minimization of emotional stress the body’s own immune system becomes strengthened, enabling the body to heal itself and be fortified against possible disease. It avoids the overuse or common misuse of many drugs, antibiotics, steroids, artificial chemicals, vaccinations, and other treatments.
We treat each pet patient as an individual, prescribing only what he or she needs. Our holistic veterinarians are trained in many different modalities and treat mostly with physical treatments, proper diet, natural whole-food and herbal dietary supplements, nutraceuticals, formulas from the ancient Chinese, Ayurvedic and Western herbal traditions, Bach Flower emotional remedies, essential oils and homeopathic remedies. Physical treatments include VOM chiropractic adjustments, acupuncture therapy, ozone therapy, cold laser therapy (LLLT), and Reiki, among other treatments. We recommend regular check-ups and blood tests to help us keep your pet on track and in balance.
We see dogs, cats, small mammals, birds and reptiles at our clinic and are available for house calls as well. In Northern New Jersey, we do Equine barn calls for acupuncture, chiropractic and cold laser therapy.

Me and my wife took our dog Daisy to get her butt glands checked because of constant scooting. It turned out that she need surgery to remove one of the glands. The office is so nice and helpful when you call in. The doctors is very good at explaining his diagnosis and offering alternatives first before resorting to surgery or medicine. I would definitely recommend Holistic Pet care to any pet owner.
To start we did have to wait quite a long time BUT the attention to my concerns was SUPERB so the wait didn’t really matter. We started with a traditional veterinarian and I did not love our experience with them. In life, I tend to side with a more holistic lifestyle and didn’t realize how much medicine was involved in traditional veterinary care. I went looking for a more holistic vet and found one in Dr.Hirsch at Holistic Per Care. She was excellent, very thorough, addressed all of my questions, concerns and more! The office staff and Techs were wonderful and really I wish we brought our new pup here in the first place!

Dr. Satish is knowledge, caring, professional and so much more. My 10lb Lilt had a bad accident, her paw was got caught under a heavy door, resulting in a fracture and torn pad. I called Holistic Pet Care, they said bring her in and Dr. Satish saw us. She was gentle and cared for a scary pup with both holistic and modern medicine as required.
Thanks for being there in our time of need! I've seen Dr. Hirsh is the past and was also very satisfied with her knowledge, level of detail, interest in Lily's background and care.
When I bring my English Mastiff to Holistic Pet Care I know he is in the best hands. They offer many more alternative modalities that most average vets don’t even know about. Only the best for my pup. Thank you.
