Dr. Elaine Kuo,DVM
Dr. Kuo received her DVM degree from National Taiwan University in Taipei, Taiwan. After that, she went straight to graduate school for stem cell research. She obtained a Master degree in Biomedical Engineering from National Yang-Ming University in Taipei, Taiwan. After she realized her true passion for practicing veterinary medicine, she discontinued her Ph.D. study but obtained her second Master degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Rochester in Rochester, NY. She then finished the clinical rotation year in Louisiana State University Veterinary Teaching Hospital to fulfill the requirement of PAVE (Program for the Assessment of Veterinary Education Equivalence) and successfully obtained licensure in New Jersey and New York.
Overall, Dr. Kuo is interested in the medicine of dogs, cats, and exotic animals. She later went on to study the Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine under TCVM pioneer Dr. Huisheng Xie at the Chi Institute in Reddick, Florida, where she achieved certification in veterinary acupuncture. With the background of growing up in the oriental environment, Dr. Kuo is very excited to practice veterinary medicine with the (modern) conventional treatments plus her (alternative) herbal and holistic knowledge as needed.
Dr. Kuo loves classical music, cooking, gardening, and hiking. She spends most of her free time with her husband, 2 energetic boys, the Cat Tiger (deceased) and the Bearded Dragon Spiky.
